Why I’m obsessed with self-actualization

I grew up in a small town in Greece where it seemed like, people had no dreams. Well, I had massive ones. The kind of dreams that burn you up inside if you don’t chase after them. The ones that bring you to tears before they’re even realized. The ones that keep you counting down days for 3 years, saving up money for 7 years, and the kind of future vision you’ll suck up anything for.

I dreamt my life like a scrapbook of experiences.

Shots of ecstasy, shots of awe. Then shots of mindfulness, - turns out that makes an even better blend.

I dreamt of a life in different countries, different philosophies, shaped and formed by people’s stories. Being influenced by spontaneous plans, strangers’ invitations, - in order to learn something new, think differently, be different. In order to get to the core of it all…

…And answer the big questions:

What’s the point?

What’s my purpose?

& Who am I?

Good news - If you know the thing you’re looking for is there, you will eventually find it! - I now have answers to all three! ;)

I knew that there must be more in life than what I was taught (or seen from examples) growing up. I knew there was greatness inside me. Potential. And I wouldn’t stop until I brought that to life.

That became my life’s mission.

I studied psychology to understand the nature of the mind, and when that didn’t do it, -when in fact my mind was so stressed that psychology and counselling failed- I found meditation! I realized that I am not my body but a soul residing inside it. That I am energy, as we all are and everything is. And on the path of seeking deeper into meditation, I stumbled upon yoga and even became a yoga teacher; Because when I taught yoga I would get x10 the benefits of yoga - we’re talking immense amounts of gratitude and presence on the day-to-day.

And then, like many other seekers of purpose, meaning, and self-realization,

I found psychedelics.

A modality I was called to ever since I read about them in 2015. I felt an instant knowing, as if I had finally found the missing piece to the puzzle of all those things I believed existed and was still looking for.

It did. I still am.

Everything I know now, everything I am, and everything I support others with has not been the result of any single tool or practice.

It has been the product of a 7-year journey in personal and spiritual development workshops across the world, learning the art of happiness and getting better at the practice of healing.

The Journals

Like many things in life the path of realizing my own potential came with no manual.

Until during the Covid Lockdown…

I created the manual myself!

While everyone was binging on Netflix and getting fat…

I found myself in need of a structured system to:

  • Continue my personal growth journey

  • Engrain the insights & practices that had transformed my perspective on myself and the world

  • Integrate those insights into daily routine

That's when it hit me: Why not compile all the personal development, wellness, and spiritual tools I gathered throughout my gap years into a single journal? (Similar to bullet journaling).

This journal became an archive of all tools, teachings, and practices of THINGS THAT WORKED.

As well as a manual to myself!

The content ranged from body-and-self love exercises, relationship coaching, meditation techniques, to strategies gathered from a range of self-help books,

Imagine: productivity and time-management systems, habit trackers, goal roadmaps, bucket lists, reading lists, wish lists, to-do lists - an endless amount of lists, to be accurate - alongside daily and weekly rituals, progress reviews, and life assessments!

This all-in-one tool has been my trusted companion since 2021. A tool I’ve used literally every day of my life and one that went beyond just myself.

Countless others have also put order to the chaos of their lives through a customized version of this journal.

What began as crafting journals tailored to the unique lives of friends soon expanded to friends of friends and even strangers I'd encounter in co-working spaces.

Today, it’s one of the core parts of my coaching practice; helping clients get their minds & lives together through a customized journal (150-350 pages) full of what works for each one!

Imagine having a comprehensive manual of:

The practices that help you enjoy being in your own skin,

The people that inspire you and those that tear your dreams down,

The sneaky time-management habits (or lack thereof) that sabotage your best days.

Imagine having the kinds of reflective questions that help you remember childhood dreams,

as well as the moments in times when you lost parts of yourself,

and stopped believing in yourself altogether.

Imagine having a tool that helps you re-parent & re-program yourself according to who you want to be!

People’s reactions to their personalized journals

Jason Jones receiving his customized journal, 2023

Being a coach means asking good questions.

This journal is full of those.

It is also 3-years of research into effective journal prompts, countless trials, individualized journals for clients, and a commitment to empowering seekers in their journey toward self-actualization through hard-to-find tools made easily accessible.

In these pages, you’ll find non-mainstream exercises for:

  • Embracing body love,

  • Exploring feminine or masculine energy,

  • Creating routines and action plans,

  • Building better habits,

  • And an array of thought-provoking reflections to be used as weekly & monthly reviews.

These insights are born from thorough research and real-life experiences gathered from diverse cultural perspectives, blending Western teachings with those from India and South America.

If you are seeking a holistic approach to personal development, this journal is for you!

Launching this summer, the Self-Actualization Journal will become available to the public. An archive of the most effective questions, world teachings, and hands-on practices to help anyone on their path towards themselves!

“This is an all-in-one tool for introspection, organization, relationship with self and others, accomplishments, goals, self-awareness, self-esteem, and the development of many different social, cognitive, and emotional skills.”

- Dr. Susan Pick, Social Psychologist
